About the Blog: Originated and edited by Gene Adcock, CMSgt, USAF (CCT) Retired, the CCT blog is intended to be a collection of true stories told by combat controllers. From this collection of stories a written history of the career field will emerge. To be a viable and complete history, maximum participation is required. All those who have been a part of the CCT mission are strongly encouraged to participate.
About the Author: Gene Adcock entered the USAF in January 1955, serving first as a radio maintenance man with the USAF Security Service in Japan. Returing to Sewart AFB, TN in 1957, he was assigned to the 314th Tactical Airlift Wing Communications Suadron. He later volunteered and was accepted for assignment to Combat Control Team, 2nd Aerial Port Squadron.
He served follow-on tours with Combat Control Teams in Japan, Dyess AFB, TX, England AFB, LA, Forbes AFB, KS, and Little Rock AFB, AR. During his service, he served TDY tours in Vietnam and Laos. He retired in January 1977 as the lead combat control inspector on the Military Airlift Command (MAC) IG Team, Scott AFB, IL.
In retirement he has actively supported a variety of CCT and Air Commando activities. He is a founding member of the Combat Control School Heritage Association.

Looking for information about the CCT team stationed at Dyess AFB around 1967-1968; MSgt Latimore, SSgt. Dark Hayes.

I was at Dyess at that time, arriving there in July 66 and leaving a year later. Mo Latimore retruned to Dyess around Jan 67 – from Vietnam. Dark was there, but not during the time I was there.
